THE REMINISCE LAYERED IRISH OVERDRESS

Introductory Sale.

3 layers in a 2 piece costume. The Irish Overdress with a 4 point skirt over our Boho Chemise.
It was not unusual for women during the Renaissance to wear multiple layers of clothing with the chemise, or undergarment, often doubling as sleepwear. Up until the Renaissance, women slept mostly naked but always wore a cap, where they tucked their neatly braided hair.
The Renaissance also saw the higher classes start to separate their daily undergarments from sleepwear.

THE IRISH DRESS
Fitted sleeveless bodice ~ may be worn with any style chemise. Front lace-up. Shoulder lace-up for better fit. Lovely brocade trim. Soft, quality poly crepe material. Laces in back to cinch to a custom fit. The 4 Point Skirt adds an extra layer of clothing to your outfit in keeping with the style of the times.

THE BOHO CHEMISE
This is the unsmocked version of this style. Extremely comfortable to wear and adorable in its look. This is also of the soft poly crepe blend material. It is left purposely larger than the dress so it may be cinched, as was the custom in Renaissance times.

lightness. It will wear well in hot Summer days yet will be comfortable in Spring and Fall.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Beyond what the naked eye can see and as awareness increases of the widespread metal and chemical toxicity in fabrics causing havoc to human health and the environment, it will be reassuring for you to know that our signature fabric, trim used, and grommets were tested by Bureau Veritas North America, a top US lab to insure that our customers are well protected.

Much of the toxicity in fabrics comes from the type of dye that is used and the chemicals used to make it. Whether it is polyester or cotton or silk, if the dye or process that is used is toxic, the fabric will be too.
Ours passed all requirements with flying colors, including California's tough Proposition 65 and even stringent federal government regulations to insure the safety of fabrics in children's clothing. It is an excellent quality fabric that is free of toxicity.

FABRIC CARE:
Machine or hand wash with lukewarm water. Will look new wash after wash. Tumble dry in medium heat ~ won't need ironing if pulled out of the drier when ready. Will not shrink or loose it's vibrant color.
